Busy as a Bee...

I have been ever so busy lately creating a special order for a client...it is always delightfully challenging to receive a request for something I have never made before...
Little fabric stars...fleece clouds...fabric raindrops...just a couple of the new items I have been sewing.

Oh, and a few other items such as...

Elegant fabric covered hangers...

Ellie softies...

 Sweet hessian jointed bunnies...

More ellie softies...

 Beautiful mini bunting...

Oh and another adorable farmer boy rabbit...

~
Stay posted for a few more new projects...what fun it has been to experiment with different patterns, fabrics and colours...I feel a bit like an artist!

In the meantime, I would love you to stop by my little Etsy shoppe...it brings me the greatest pleasure to parcel up something special for someone...complete with ribbons and bows...and send it off to bless another!

Have a wonderfully creative weekend, dear readers!

Farmer Boy Bunny

Growing up my favourite book was (...and still is) Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder...
Something about the story of young Almanzo Wilder growing up on a big farm in New York State gripped me, and I must have read it at least a dozen times!

While we are on the subject of farmers, I just had to share a picture of this little farmer boy bunny I created for an Etsy customer this week!

Isn't he sweet with his little denim dungarees and red gingham cotton shirt?  This was my first time making a shirt for a bunny of this size, and I am quite happy with how it turned out...{{smiles}}

This navy blue star fabric I bought to use in our baby's sea-themed quilt, and I used leftover fabric to make this rabbit's ears, pocket and the cuffs on his dungarees...  I added little buttons to the dungaree straps as well.

~
Stay tuned for some Farmer Boy bunnies coming soon to my Etsy shoppe!

And remember, I offer customized orders, so if you are wanting something in particular, please feel free to send me an Etsy conversation and I will do my utmost to create something just for YOU!

Blessings on your Sunday, friends!

Little Bunny Blue...

I am simply delighted to be sharing this little boy bunny with you today, dear readers...

I have been wanting to create a boy version of my Miss Lettice Rabbits for quite some time now, and this week I had the lovely chance of doing so when I received a request for boy bunny from an Etsy customer!

What do you think of this adorable boy bunny?  Instead of making a frilly dress and pantaloons, I made him some simple dungarees with a cross-stitch heart ''patch'' on the one leg.
The bib is in coordinating blue fabric and boasts a sweet little pocket.  I did add a little blue anglaise at the bottom of each leg of the pants...just for some extra charm!  {{smiles}}

I hope to add a few more boy bunnies to my Etsy shoppe very soon...

Have a wonderful, creative week further, friends!

Lovely Miss Lettice...

I know I have said it many a time before, but lovely Miss Lettice is one of my very favourite fabric items to make for Heartmade...

I love selecting coordinating fabrics for her dress and choosing matching lace and ribbons.
Adding the finishing touches to her face - french knots for eyes, a sweet pink nose and a touch of blush for rosy cheeks, I always think of how blessed I am to do something that I love so much!

~

Miss Lettice is such a cheerful rabbit with an especially darling outfit...
She can be cuddled, kissed and admired all day long and can always be relied upon to bring a smile!
Oh, how could you not love her...?

I don't usually use yellow and red together for my sewing projects, but this fabric literally jumped out at me on a recent visit to a fabric shop!
The narrow red lace adds a beautiful finish, as does the red hair ribbon...

~

Here is another Miss Lettice I created using shades of beautiful blue...

Oh, don't you think the little pantaloons are so adorable...?

~

And lastly, a pink Miss Lettice to satisfy all my fellow lovers of pink out there...

I just love these little flower buttons!

Which is *your* favourite Miss Lettice?

Blessings, dear readers!
Thank you so much for visiting today and leaving such sweet comments - I always love hearing your thoughts!

Till next time!

Vintage Style Collector’s Bunny ~ Miss Lettice

I just had to introduce you to sweet Miss Lettice, one of my latest sewing projects…

Recently I shared photographs of these darling rabbits on my personal blog, Beautiful Girlhood, but since then I’ve made a few minor changes and improvements to my pattern and to the clothing...

This rabbit has a certain vintage charm which is quite striking and her clothes are perfectly suited to her as well.
I had such a lovely time designing and creating on my sewing machine and I am so happy with how she turned out!

Of course I must also say a thank you to my very dear mother, who not only encouraged me to make Miss Lettice her adorable pantaloons, but also assisted me with making changes to patterns, etc.

And to my kind younger sisters who were more than willing to share their opinions and ideas for improvements with me…they have each requested one, but I’m not so sure I can have five made in time for Easter to gift all of them with!

But now, let me tell you a few more details about Miss Lettice and show you why she is so special…

Miss Lettice has an unbleached calico body and ears made from patterned quilting cotton…
She is 100% handmade with love and created with the utmost attention to detail.

I embroidered her simple face with tiny stitches and gave her claws on her dear little paws…  Of course I just had to give her pink cheeks with a touch of blush, too!

Her frock is made in coordinating fabrics, and the skirt is gathered and trimmed with lace for added vintage charm…

I added a teeny little pocket to the front bodice piece and adorable blue buttons to keep the straps in place…Did I ever mention how much I love buttons…?

The sweet pantaloons have a ruffle near the hem and I also added a little bow for more of a three dimensional effect…

I love these delightful blue fabrics - they are so soft and beautiful to look at!

I can just picture sweet Miss Lettice sitting among precious sewing books or on a new baby’s bed, bringing joy to the heart of each person who stops by to pay her some small attention or give her a cuddle…

And I hope she will bless many - just as she has blessed me…

I think Miss Lettice will become a very special part of Heartmade and the work that I am indeed privileged to do in the future…

With love,
 Kelly-Anne
