I
had such a wonderful time decorating for Valentine’s with pretty hearts… One of my more recent projects was inspired
by my mother who made these adorable little hanging hearts with fabric remnants
from her lovely scrap box...
Oh,
how I love scraps! Such special memories
and stories they carry and what beautiful things one can create with all the
tiny bits and pieces leftover from previous projects...
Thus I was inspired to create a beautiful Valentine ‘tree’ and hang the little hearts daintily from the branches…
But
before I did so, I painted the branch white in order to give it more of a
shabby chic look… One can use spray
paint or craft paint depending on what is more readily available to you.
This
idea works beautifully if you have a good branch…I spent some time searching
for the exact one and even more time painting it – or attempting to paint it.
I
did somehow manage to end up with paint splattered over myself which I feel is
part of the creative process and makes one feel like an artist of sorts…
Once
the branch is perfectly dry, hang it up or place it in a pot filled with sand
to hold it down and arrange your little hearts on the twigs as ornaments!

Day!
